How is batting average calculated in baseball?
Baseball batting average = Hits ÷ At-Bats. Walks, hit-by-pitches and sacrifices do not count as at-bats. A .300 average (30 hits per 100 at-bats) is considered excellent in MLB.
How is batting average calculated in cricket?
Cricket batting average = Total runs scored ÷ Times dismissed. Not-outs are excluded from dismissals. Don Bradman's Test average of 99.94 remains the highest in history.
What is a good batting average in baseball?
.300+ is excellent in MLB. League average is typically around .250. Below .200 is considered poor for a starting player.
