Tonnage is one workload measure

Each exercise row uses sets × repetitions × external load. Session volume is the sum of valid rows. This is most useful for comparing similar exercises and counting conventions—not for declaring that one different workout was universally harder or better.

Example: 3 sets × 10 repetitions × 50 kg = 1,500 kg of volume load.

How is training volume calculated?

Each exercise row uses sets multiplied by repetitions multiplied by external load. Session volume is the sum of all valid rows in the selected unit.

Does higher tonnage always mean a better workout?

No. Tonnage does not capture technique, range of motion, effort, exercise mechanics, rest or whether the added work was recoverable.

Can I compare different exercises by tonnage?

Only cautiously. The same numerical load has different mechanical and muscular demands across exercises, machines and ranges of motion.

How should I record bodyweight exercises?

Choose and document a consistent convention, such as zero external load or an estimated effective load. Do not mix conventions when comparing sessions.

Where is session history stored?
